UX Designer (Part-time Contract, Remote)


Position Overview:

We are in search of an exceptional UX Designer to help create intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces for our web applications, which are extensively used by academic libraries. The ideal candidate should have experience in UX design for academic library systems and proficiency in utilizing Tailwind CSS for creating responsive layouts.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and librarians to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Utilize Tailwind CSS to develop responsive, scalable, and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Gauge the usability of new and existing products and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Ensure that designs align with accessibility standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven UX design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience working in an academic library setting.
  • Familiarity with design software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or equivalent.
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Up-to-date with the latest UX design trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is a plus.
